MSTSC RDP Unable to open connection file



If you get the message “Unable to open connection file - C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Default.rdp” when running MSTSC and/or “An error occurred when saving to file” when you try and save config, delete the existing default.rdp (0 bytes) and recreate using the command “echo > Default.RDP”.
Re-launch MSTSC and try again, resaving your defaults.

  2. Just by deleting the file C:\Users\{username}\My Documents\Default.rdp” solve the issue, the file is recreated by the OS
